The Sales Career Night hosted 22 employers Wednesday at the Memorial Union Great Hall.

The event was hosted by the Sales Club and the Business Career Services office.

Tim de Wit, a graduate student in business administration and Sales Club president, said the career night was in partnership with business career services.

“We worked with Jessica Martin and her team to help put on their Sales Career Night,” de Wit said. “A lot of the companies here work with Sales Club and with career services. It’s a big, coordinated event where students interested in sales can outreach for internships and jobs.”

Sales Club meets in room 2446 in Gerdin, and de Wit encourages interested students to stop in.

“Be sure to check out Sales Club,” de Wit said. “There’s no dues at all for the club, so anyone can join us for free. There’s also free food most of the time.”

Madelyn Gamber, a sophomore in marketing and supply chain management, is pursuing a sales certification and was at the event for a sales management class.

“I didn’t think I would really love sales,” Gamber said.  “I’m more introverted, but it’s pushing me out of my comfort zone.”

Gamber’s advice to other students is to be confident.

“Everyone that’s going to talk to you, they’re all super nice,” Gamber said. “They just want to help you out. Just go for it.”

Jessica Martin, a career coordinator in the business career services office, described some of the services the office offers to students.

“We have an office where students can schedule one-on-one appointments, get personalized career coaching, resume reviews, interview prep and offer evaluation,” Martin said.

The office also offers a variety of events throughout the semester.

“Every semester, we have a wide spread of events which consist of career nights, which are more major focus, like Sales Career Night, and a few more based on each major,” Martin said. “It culminates with the business industry technology career fair which is the biggest event that happens in Hilton Coliseum.”

The Business, Industry and Technology Career Fair will be held Feb. 12. Visit their website to learn more about the fair.
