He is one of 40 leaders in the state who were selected for the program.

The Iowa Association of Business and Industry Foundation created the program to grow a network of informed leaders. Since its inception in 1982, 42 classes have graduated.

“It’s an honor to be selected and represent Iowa Central Community College,” Ulrich said.

The program’s classes connect leaders to a variety of experts in fields such as agriculture, manufacturing, government, health care, education, workforce and economic development.

“During the classes we are given the opportunity to learn first hand from industry experts and strengthen our knowledge of the specific industry,” Ulriich said in a written statement. “From the community college perspective, it is beneficial to know more about our workforce and needs at the state level because community colleges are the No. 1 providers of a skilled workforce.”
