Netflix has shared a first look at Barry Keoghan’s mystery role in the upcoming Peaky Blinders movie, showing the Saltburn actor driving a truck while clad in a leather jacket and a newsboy cap — as is typical Peaky Blinders fashion. 

Though Keoghan’s involvement in the movie was announced a few months ago, details about his role are still being kept under wraps. It will be directed by Tom Harper, who has helmed episodes in the first season of the hit series. 

Series creator Steven Knight has returned to Thomas Shelby’s world to serve as a writer and producer for the Peaky Blinders movie. You can check out the newly released photo down below:

Who else stars in the Peaky Blinders movie?

Cillian Murphy will return to reprise his iconic Thomas Shelby role. Other returning cast members include Stephen Graham as Hayden Stagg, Sophie Rundle as Ada Thorne, Ned Dennehy as Charlie Strong, Packy Lee as Johnny Dogs, and Ian Peck as Curly.

In addition to Keoghan, Peaky Blinders newcomers include Rebecca Ferguson (Silo, Doctor Sleep), Tim Roth (Lie to Me, Reservoir Dogs), and Jay Lycurgo (The Bastard Son & The Devil Himself, The Radleys). All character details are yet to be revealed by Netflix. 

Besides Saltburn, Keoghan is known for his roles in Dunkirk, The Killing Of A Sacred Deer, American Animals, Black ’47, The Shadow Of Violence, The Green Knight, The Banshees Of Inisherin, The Batman, 

Little is still known about the plot of the Peaky Blinders movie, but it is expected to be set during World War II. The series follows Murphy’s Tommy Shelby, whose high-profile status in Birmingham is jeopardized by Inspector Chester Campbell, who is determined to bring him down. 

Murphy and Knight will serve as the project’s producers, along with Caryn Mandabach and Guy Heeley. It will be executive produced by Harper, David Kosse, Jamie Glazebrook, Andrew Warren, and David Mason.
