Following a tough home loss by 0.125 to Arizona State, the Cyclones look to bounce back as they head to Morgantown, West Virginia, to take on the Mountaineers.

As Iowa State heads to West Virginia, the goal is to earn a critical win against a Big 12 opponent.

This meeting between the Cyclones and Mountaineers marks the 30th matchup, and the Cyclones hold an overwhelming 19-9-1 series lead over the Mountaineers.

Last season, Iowa State took first place in both matchups against West Virginia. This season, the Cyclones hold a 2-6 record to the Mountaineers 1-5 record.

Iowa State looks to have the upper hand due to more dominant wins and meets this season. The Mountaineers come into this match ready to compete as they put up two of their best scores against top-five-ranked teams in their last meet.

Freshman Haylee Hardin looks to be a key to a possible victory. Hardin is coming off her second Big 12 Newcomer of the Week award for the second consecutive week.

West Virginia looks to put the press on Iowa State with its floor performances, which has been the best event for the team.

Individually, senior Brooke Alban for the Mountaineers looks to be the biggest threat to the Cyclones. Alban dominates on vault and uneven bars but has recently put up stellar performances on the floor.

In the last meet, Alban led the team in all events she competed in. Alban has recently been excelling on the floor routine and led with a 9.825.

Iowa State has proven to bring the energy and despite an impressive record by Alban, the team still looks to come out of this meet victorious.

The Cyclones now await their competition. The meet will take place at 1 p.m. Sunday and will be streamed live on ESPN+.
