The Des Moines community is mourning the death of a well-known and beloved K-9 officer. The Des Moines Police Department says Bero died Saturday after a short illness. Bero had been with the department for eight years.With his partner, Senior Police Officer Dao Meunsaveng, Bero helped sniff out illegal substances and apprehend criminals.
