History of Independent Bookstore Day
There are lots of bookstores that have become immensely popular throughout the days. These stores often overshadow local businesses, so Independent Bookstore Day was created! Samantha Schoech is a writer, copywriter, and editor for the Northern California Independent Booksellers Association. She helped declare this day which falls on the last Saturday of each April.
The first IBD was on April 25th, 2015. Over 400 bookstores participated, marking the day a success!
