DES MOINES, Iowa —
A bill that would make lying about academic achievements a felony is now on the governor’s desk after being approved by House lawmakers.
House File 2337 was passed with an 89-3 vote on Wednesday.
A person accused of lying about their academic credentials during the job interview process could be found guilty of a Class D felony.
That carries a sentence of up to five years in prison and a fine of up to $10,000.
