The Peacock streaming service is more traditionally associated with televised content than movies. This is an issue despite their connection to NBC Universal. However, there are still a number of action movies readily available for streaming there.

What are the best Action Movies on Peacock?

Admittedly, Peacock has one of the more limited film libraries among the major streaming services. This is due to it mostly being made up of those films produced or licensed by Universal Studios. Despite this, there are a number of classic action movies to be found.

Highlander (1986)

Since the dawn of time, Immortals have lived in secret among mortals. Nobody knows how or why they are born of the common clay of humanity. All that is known is that they cannot die, save from beheading. That, and a great prize awaits the last of the Immortals, who survives to slay the rest of his kind.

Connor MacLeod is one such Immortal; a Scottish warrior born in the 16th century. For over 400 years, he has fought his fellow Immortals, but the time of the final battle is approaching. And the only other Immortal is The Kurgan, who slew MacLeod’s mentor and assaulted his wife.

Highlander was an unusual movie by most metrics. A box office bomb upon release, it’s unique mythology still found a following. It became a cult classic on home video, and inspired a television spinoff and several sequels.

There are many reasons why Highlander inspired this devotion and why it is finding new fans even now on Peacock. Part of it is due to the film’s amazing swordfights. Another factor is the amazing soundtrack by Queen. Regardless, the upcoming revamp with Henry Cavill as Connor MacLeod will have a hard time matching the magic of the original

Man on Fire (2004)

Like many military men, John Creasey (Denzel Washington) had trouble finding purpose outside the Marines and CIA. Struggling with alcoholism and self-destructive urges, Creasey found that purpose as a bodyguard to Pita Ramos. However, Creasey goes beyond merely protecting the girl, coaching her in competitive swimming and becoming her second father.

When Pita is abducted, Creasy finds himself the prime suspect in the kidnapping. This is thanks to a cabal of crooked cops and career criminals, led by a mysterious figure known as “The Voice.” With the help of an old friend, Creasey assembles an arsenal and goes on the offense to save the girl who helped save his life.

Director Tony Scott dreamed of adapting the 1980 novel Man on Fire by A.J. Quinnell into a movie. However, with only one movie under his belt in 1983, he was considered too inexperienced. The movie was ultimately adapted in 1987 by Élie Chouraqui, to poor reviews from critics and fans of the book. (Reportedly, Chouraqui had not read the original.) Given that, when offered a chance to adapt the book in the early 2000s, Scott said yes.

The 2004 Man on Fire is considered truer to the book than the 1987 version. This is in spite of the setting being changed from Italy to Mexico. This was thanks to a script the retained most of the book’s dialogue. While most reviewers did not like the movie, it did win over one notably harsh critic; author A. J. Quinnell, who rarely enjoyed adaptations of his books. The movie was also praised for its intense action scenes and Washington’s emotional portrayal of a soldier with PTSD giving in to his anger.

The Hunger Games (2012)

The dystopian nation of Panem is divided into 12 districts, each devoted to a different resource. As punishment for a failed rebellion, each district is forced to send two teenage tributes – one boy and one girl – to compete in an annual contest called The Hunger Games.

When her younger sister is chosen by a random draw, Katniss Everdeen volunteers to take her place. An experienced hunter, Katniss believes she has a much better chance of surviving the conflict to come. However, she is ill-prepared for the social media battle that sees sponsors arranging bonuses for the most popular and beloved contenders. This leaves Katniss fighting a war on two fronts, even as she explores her feelings regarding her fellow tribute, Peeta.

The Hunger Games was a hit young adult novel before being adapted into a movie. However, the film adaptation further cemented its place as an essential franchise. It remains the highest grossing movie ever produced by Lionsgate and one of the most profitable released outside the summer blockbuster corridor.

In terms of action, The Hunger Games is largely memorable for the gritty realism of its fight sequences. These stand in stark contrast to the fabricated nature of the televised commentary and the artificiality of the Capitol. The movie is also a satiric masterpiece, perfectly capturing the exploitive aura of real-world reality shows based around enjoying people’s suffering.

The Fall Guy (2024)

After injuring his back, stunt performer Colt Seavers (Ryan Gosling) abandons his career and his girlfriend, camera operator Jody Moreno (Emily Blunt). Nearly two years later, Colt is called out to a film shoot in Sydney, where Jody is directing his first feature film. He was told she wanted his help, but she’s still furious about being dumped.

It turns out that Colt was lured to the set to investigate the disappearance of Tom Ryder; the actor he used to double. However, this turns out to be part of a ruse to frame Colt for a crime he didn’t commit. This leaves him using his stunt training to survive, prove his innocence, and win back Jody while saving her movie.

The Fall Guy was not a major hit upon release. Like many modern action movies, it failed to make back its budget, much less the advertising money that was spent upon it. However, the film did prove to be a major hit with reviewers and industry professionals.

It earned an 82% positive rating among professional critics on Rotten Tomatoes. This was thanks to the film’s dependence on practical effects over CGI, at a time when that is increasingly rare. Fittingly, The Fall Guy also earned multiple awards for Best Stunts, including the 2025 SAG Award for Outstanding Performance by a Stunt Ensemble in a Motion Picture.

Jurassic World: Rebirth (2025)

In the wake of the Jurassic World theme-park fiasco, the genetically engineered dinosaurs released into the wild have slowly started dying off. By 2025, only a few isolated pockets exist in tropical areas similar to the climate of the Mesozoic era. These areas are off-limits to anyone, for good reason.

Despite this, pharmaceutical executive Martin Krebs requires genetic samples from three species of dinosaur for an experimental treatment. To that end, he recruits covert operative Zora Bennet and paleontologist Dr. Henry Loomis to lead a team to find the dinosaurs. However, things quickly go south, with a family sailing too close to the forbidden island and Krebs having a hidden agenda.

Jurassic World: Rebirth was indeed a rebirth for the beloved franchise. The film was a hit with audiences, far outperforming its projected earnings. Critical opinion was more mixed, but many enjoyed its basic-to-basics premise and intense action sequences. Fans of the original Jurassic Park novel also applauded the movie for recreating a climactic scene from the book that did not make it into the Jurassic Park movie. This involved a Tyrannosaurus Rex attacking a river raft.

How we picked the best action movies on Peacock in 2026

Legacy and reception were the chief criteria in picking the best action movies on Peacock. Whether the film had inspired a franchise was a big consideration. However, movies that earned critical or industry acclaim were also considered for inclusion.
