There’s another way to improve lead quality. If you contact new leads by phone, you need to try this.
Let’s take a closer look…
The Basics
Below your list of instant forms, you may see a section for “Quality Filters.” There you may see a checkbox for “Require SMS verification to submit form.”
When enabled, new leads will be required to provide a one-time password to submit the form. If they don’t, they will not be considered a “lead” as tracked in your leads data.
Here is a quick video that shows it in action…
Requirements
To use this feature, your form must require a phone number. It can’t be an optional field.
Also, you can’t use the Higher Intent form type. That seems odd, but I’ve seen a version of Higher Intent that provides the option of SMS verification when selecting the form type (also odd, but it may still be available).
Finally, SMS verification will not work if leads provide numbers for landlines. You may want to be specific about that in your form. It also may make this feature less useful for an older age group or in certain regions where adoption of mobile phones is lower.
Is it Right for You?
This could be a huge benefit if you’re struggling to contact leads by phone due to quality issues. It would be ideal for any situation where you’ll hop onto a sales call with a new lead. The Cost Per Lead will go up, but it should cut out bots, spam, and the lowest quality leads.
Of course, this feature isn’t for everyone. There’s no reason to use it for your typical lead magnet. Don’t force the use of a phone number just to improve lead quality (there are other ways to do that).
Otherwise, try it out!
