WATERLOO — Iowa Irish Fest has announced that the hit PBS travel and music show, “Ireland with Michael,” hosted by Irish tenor and Emmy Award nominee Michael Londra, is a Fest partner this year.
The PBS film crew will be in downtown Waterloo on Aug. 3 and 4, capturing performances and gathering interviews during Iowa Irish Fest. The episode will air in January, during season five of “Ireland with Michael.”
It will be the first time an entire episode of the show is filmed outside Ireland. The episode will spotlight how Irish culture, music and fun are celebrated outside of Ireland, featuring Celtic artists, bands and acts from around the world that travel to the Iowa Irish Fest to perform.
In addition, Londra will present two travel workshops at the fest. Londra was the lead singer in “Riverdance” on Broadway.
