Iowa weather: Cooler today with more showers for Easter Sunday
We will be drying out more this afternoon as temperatures drop to the mid and low 50s and 40s for the evening. We wont have a substantial warmup to look forward to until next week, so temperatures will be below average for the next few days. Easter Sunday will bring back the showers. Rain chances will increase for the morning. The cool rain will move in from south to north, so there is a chance for some of us to take advantage of an early morning easter egg hunt. The later morning into the afternoon will be a washout with widespread showers over Iowa. Accumulations will range from .5” to 1.5” over most of the state. Some of us might hear some rumbles of thunder later in the evening and overnight Sunday into Monday, but that mainly would be in southeastern Iowa.The rain will take a break for the start of next week with showers and possible storms returning on Tuesday. There will be some additional rain chances to follow deeper into the week.
