Searching for the perfect afternoon snack or looking to support local businesses? This week’s farmers’ market features three vendors bringing plenty of flavor and heart to the Main Street Farmers’ Market.

Crave a Cake

These treats are inspired by the flavors of Asia. This small bakery specializes in Asian-inspired baked goods, including fresh bread, egg tarts and cakes. Their menu features signature items available year-round with rotating monthly specials that introduce customers to new flavors throughout the season.

Crave a Cake combines traditional baking techniques with flavors commonly found in Asian bakeries, but with a Midwest twist. This offers shoppers something different yet comforting.

Divas and Weirdough

Based in Huxley with another location in Urbandale, Divas and Weirdough has become known for turning sourdough into just about everything imaginable, including classic artisan boules and sandwich bread or bagels, muffins and more.

The bakery began with a simple goal: creating healthier bread and baked treats through natural sourdough fermentation. What started as a personal passion quickly grew into a business. Customers can order from the rotating weekly menu or find the bakery at farmers’ markets and local vendor events throughout the seasons.

Piggy’s Kettle Corn

The smell alone is enough to draw you in. Piggys Kettle Corn is a husband-and-wife-owned business from New Providence that pops up every batch fresh on-site using Iowa-grown popcorn.

In addition to classic kettle corn, they offer customer favorites like caramel, cheese and jalapeno popcorn. Watching each batch being popped fresh is part of the fun. Their commitment to using locally grown popcorn makes every bag a true taste of Iowa.

One of the best parts of visiting the farmers’ market is discovering the stories behind the booths. Each vendor adds something unique to the market experience. Take a little extra time to explore. You might just leave with a new favorite baked goods spot.
