With midterms in full swing, students across campus are preparing for their exams while balancing the anticipation of spring break. While some students are confident in their preparation, others strive to improve their academic performance this semester.
For Nolan Klemesrud, a sophomore in marketing, he is looking forward to the week.
“I’ve studied pretty hard and feel pretty confident about it,” Klemesrud said. “I’m just excited to go to spring break and get my exams done before that.”
With only one exam to take, he feels secure in his knowledge of the material.
“I only have one exam and it’s not too hard of an exam, and I feel like I know the stuff pretty well, so I’m not too worried about it,” Klemesrud said. “I feel pretty prepared.”
Other students are also relying on campus resources to help them get through this crucial academic period.
Robert Main, a sophomore in supply chain management and finance, expressed confidence in his preparation.
“I feel pretty good and well-prepared,” Main said. “I’ve had a lot of time to study, and there are a lot of resources for me to take advantage of, like tutoring and SI sessions. They’ve helped me talk through what I don’t understand.”
However, not all students share the same level of confidence.
Colton Carver, a sophomore in physics and aerospace engineering, said he feels pressure to do well on his exams.
“I’m preparing by studying a little material each day up until the exams,” Carver said. “I’ve attended a few SI sessions to help me prepare.”

Despite his efforts, Carver acknowledges the stress that comes with midterms, especially after struggling in the previous semester.
“Honestly, I’m not feeling too good about it,” Carver said. “Last semester, I didn’t do too well, so it’s a little stressful this semester because I’m trying to do better. I think I’m doing what I need to in order to prepare for it, but I could probably do more.”
