Iowa State will host the largest student-produced fashion show in the nation on April 12 in CY Stephens Auditorium. This week, the guest fashion company involved with The Fashion Show 2025 was announced.
“Parade,” an underwear and intimates brand that aims to be inclusive, sustainable and consumer-focused, will be working with ISU students and showcasing their spring line on the runway.
Libby Totzke, a senior in apparel merchandising and design, is the public relations director for The Fashion Show this year. She explained more about what the guest fashion company will do for Iowa State this year.
“[Parade will be] giving presentations to high schoolers at Behind the Scenes Day, leading creative workshops with ISU students and more,” Totzke stated. “We are so excited to host Parade and see their spring ‘25 line on our runway!”
The theme for the show this year is “Dreamscape” and the guest company line will be integrated with the theme. Totzke explained that the theme was chosen through an organization-wide vote and anyone within The Fashion Show had the opportunity to create and submit a mood board for possible themes to vote on.
According to their ISU website, some past companies that The Fashion Show has brought in include Marc Jacobs, Steve Madden, Vineyard Vines, The Denim Factory and Nordstrom.
If one is looking to be involved in The Fashion Show, they can get involved in a multitude of ways.
“During the fall semester you can apply for a director or committee member role,” Totzke stated. “There are 15 different committees, some include marketing, design, philanthropy, finance, model management… Another way to get involved is to enter as a designer. You can submit your ideas and designs to be showcased on the runway. You can also audition to be a model in the show.”
