Mass Culture, an organization that supports the arts and culture community in harnessing the power of data and research to develop strategies and insights, had invested $25,000+ over the past year into their Creative Data Fellows program. Creative Data Fellows is a cohort of 12 cultural organizations that work directly with Mass Culture-verified Data Coaches to map and apply data approaches for free. Over 12 months and 200+ data coaching hours, these 12 organizations have grown their data skills and ability to use data to understand organizational impact.

Mass Culture is currently launching the next iteration of the Creative Data Fellows program, which will partner arts and culture organizations with verified Data Coaches Gaëlle Ramboanasolo, Meena Das, and Sarah Nielsen for free. To learn more, click here.

In addition to the Creative Data Fellows program, Mass Culture offers many other tools, platforms, and opportunities to help arts and culture organizations integrate data and research into their strategies and operations.

The organization, in partnership with Purpose Analytics and Culture Works Canada, will soon launch a new Economic Impact Dashboard on their DNA Platform, an enhanced dashboard to better understand economic impact modelling. This project compiled and analyzed reports and methodologies with the objective of determining the clearest and most straightforward way of measuring the economic impact of the arts and culture sector.

Some other spotlighted Mass Culture opportunities for arts and culture workers and organizations include:

  • Data Summer School: Making Sense of Economic Impact in the Arts with guest speaker Elena Bird, a free 90-minute interactive workshop happening on July 22, 2026, at 1:00 PM ET on a history and practical guide to economic modelling.

  • Data Narratives, a set of visual data representations that use data from the DNA Platform to highlight statistics and trends in the arts and culture sector and provide resources for future research and advocacy endeavours.

  • Data Ethics & Governance, an upcoming resource to help arts and culture organizations understand ethics, governance, and responsible data management and adapt their own policies, procedures, and practices.
