When creating an instant form, you may see a “See What’s New” message at the bottom. When clicked, it redirects to a new feature at the bottom of the Ending screen: “Connect with leads in Messenger.”
This could be useful. Let’s discuss…
How it Works
Here’s how Meta describes it:
After your lead submits this form and agrees to receive messages from your business, a conversation will be started in Messenger that includes your lead’s contact information.
Don’t confuse this for an old feature. This isn’t using Messenger to collect leads. You’ve already collected the lead with a form. It’s regarding an action that can happen once the form is completed.
When you turn this on, the new lead will see a checkbox with the following message:
Receive updates from [this business] and start a conversation on Messenger that includes your contact information.
When you see it, you’ll notice that this checkbox is very easy to miss. It’s during the confirmation screen and the text is gray.
Once the form is submitted, the lead will see this message:
You sent your info to [this business] and a conversation was created with them in Messenger.
Then there’s a link to “View in Messenger.”
So once the form is submitted, a Messenger conversation is started, even if they don’t click to view it. If they’re in Facebook, they’ll likely have that message pop up so it will be difficult to miss.
Should You Use It?
This could be useful for situations where a form is completed with the expectation of speaking with a representative. Real estate or auto leads could be good examples.
That said, I would NOT use this for your typical lead magnet. If they miss that checkbox, they may see the Messenger conversation as intrusive.
Or maybe you’re adventurous and are willing to take the risk. Try it out and experiment, see what happens!
