A previously reported Student Government election violation involving executive candidates Brody Kuhse and Nolan Klemesrud has resulted in a finding of no violation, according to an update on the StuGov general election website

Kuhse, a junior majoring in mechanical engineering and a candidate for president, and Klemesrud, a senior majoring in marketing and a candidate for vice president, were previously listed as suspected candidates in an alleged violation of sections 8.8.4 and 8.12.3 of the Election Code

The sections prohibit excessive, repeated unsolicited electronic messages and harassment of another campaign, including candidates, campaign staff, affiliates, endorsers or voters.

The updated violating listing now reflects a status of “No Violation.”

In a statement following the update, the Kuhse/Klemesrud campaign said, “The excessive claim was dismissed as anticipated by the Kuhse/Klemesrud Campaign. We encourage voters to stay up to date on election information by following @voteKuhseKlem on Instagram for the latest updates.”

Kuhse also addressed the matter directly, stating, “While opponent Henry Rose commented about the situation in the recent debate, voters know that the allegations were marked no violation found as seen on the Student Government violations page.”
