Iowa semi-truck driver dies after wind causes vehicle to tip over
An Iowa man is dead after the semi-truck he was driving tipped over during Friday’s strong winds.According to an Iowa State Patrol crash report, Mark Douglas Hayden, 56, of Council Bluffs, was driving a Peterbilt truck westbound on Interstate 80 at around noon Friday.Witnesses told investigators strong winds caused the vehicle to lose control. Hayden attempted to main control, but the vehicle tipped over into the median and came to rest on the driver’s side.Hayden died from his injuries.
