Iowa weather: Sunny and warm into the weekend

HER ARTWORK ALL THROUGHOUT THE STATE. YEAH. ALL RIGHT. WE’RE HEADING OVER TO YOU. AND FOR A CHECK OF THE FORECAST TODAY. WHAT A BEAUTIFUL VIEW BEHIND YOU. YEAH. NICE DAY. GOOD DAY. MAYBE GET OUT ON THE WATER IF YOU CAN. YOU HAVE SOME EXTRA TIME LATER ON THIS AFTERNOON. WE’VE GOT BEAUTIFUL BLUE SKIES HERE UP AT THE MARINA. JUST A FEW CLOUDS DOTTING THE SKY. BUT OVERALL, A SUNNIER AND MORE CLEAR SKY TODAY COMPARED TO YESTERDAY. SIMILAR VIEW FOR DOWNTOWN DES MOINES. LOOKING AWESOME HERE AS WE HEAD INTO YOUR THURSDAY AFTERNOON. TEMPERATURES ARE IN THE LOW 70S RIGHT NOW. FEELS CLOSE TO THE ACTUAL AIR TEMPERATURE. SUNSHINE IS NICE AND WARM OUT THERE. JUST A LIGHT WIND TODAY OUT OF THE NORTHWEST. THERE AT ABOUT MAYBE FIVE MILES PER HOUR. BUT OVERALL SUPER DOPPLER EIGHT IS QUIET AND I EXPECT TO EXPECT IT TO STAY THAT WAY AS WE HEAD INTO THE AFTERNOON. TEMPERATURES ARE SITTING ANYWHERE FROM THE UPPER 60S DOWN IN CARLISLE 72, IN DES MOINES. WE’RE AT 73 IN ANKENY AND RIGHT AROUND 70 IN ALTOONA. SO IT IS A COMFORTABLE AFTERNOON ON TAP. WE’VE GOT REALLY QUIET WEATHER AHEAD. HIGH PRESSURE IS GOING TO BE IN CONTROL OF OUR WEATHER PATTERN HERE FOR THE FORESEEABLE FUTURE. THAT MEANS SUNSHINE AND WARMER TEMPERATURES. WE’VE ALSO GOT A DRY EIGHT DAY FORECAST. I THINK WE’LL KEEP IT DRY RIGHT THROUGH THE WEEKEND AND INTO THE FIRST PART OF NEXT WEEK. SATURDAY AND SUNDAY FEATURE TEMPERATURES BACK INTO THE 80S. SHOULD BE A MOSTLY SUNNY DAY. BOTH DAYS OF YOUR WEEKEND, AND IT WILL BE COMFORTABLE OUT THERE GOING INTO BOTH DAYS OF THE WEEKEND. IF YOU HAVE FRIDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL PLANS, ALSO LOOKING GOOD FOR THAT. WE’VE GOT REALLY NO BIG ISSUES AS FAR AS THE FORECAST IS CONCERNED HERE. OVER THE NEXT 48 TO 72 HOURS. REST OF TODAY, MOSTLY SUNNY SKIES AS WE HEAD INTO YOUR FRIDAY, WE’RE BACK TO MORE SUNSHINE HERE AGAIN. CLEAR SKIES TONIGHT. TEMPERATURES DROPPING BACK INTO THE 50S AND THEN TOMORROW. NOT MUCH CHANGE ON HERE BECAUSE WE WILL CONTINUE TO SEE PRETTY MUCH COMPLETE SUNSHINE HERE THROUGHOUT THE DAY. ON YOUR FRIDAY, TEMPERATURES WILL STAY ABOVE AVERAGE THOUGH BY A GOOD TEN DEGREES. SO WE STAY IN THE 80S HERE THROUGH FRIDAY INTO SATURDAY AND SUNDAY, AND AT LEAST INTO THE FIRST PART OF NEXT WEEK. SO TODAY I THINK WE’RE CLOSER TO 80 DEGREES, PROBABLY MORE SPOTS TOUCHING THAT 80 DEGREE MARK BY THE TIME WE HEAD INTO THE AFTERNOON. TONIGHT, WE’LL BE IN THE 50S, LOW TO MID 50S OUT THERE WITH A MOSTLY CLEAR SKY. AND THEN TOMORROW’S FORECAST PUTS US BACK TO THE LOW TO MID 80S. SO A LITTLE BIT WARMER FOR YOUR FRIDAY. FEELING A LITTLE BIT MORE LIKE SUMMER HEADING INTO THE WEEKEND MID 80S THOUGH. ROLL IN ALL THE WAY THROUGH MONDAY OF NEXT WEEK. AND THEN BEYOND THAT WE HAVE MORE SUNSHINE COMING OUR WAY. LOW 80S AS WELL AS WE GO INTO NEXT TUESDAY AND WEDNESDAY. PLENTY OF SUNSHINE COMING OUR WAY, LOOKING LIKE A CALIFORNIA FORECAST OUT THERE. JODI YEAH, N
