Create an easy wedge salad board as a unique side dish this is perfect for summer entertaining and outdoor BBQs!
Here’s a perfect summer salad idea!
The classic wedge salad is a favorite of mine to order at restaurants. What’s not to love about crispy bacon, tomato, creamy blue cheese dressing on crunchy lettuce?! I always seem to find it intimidating to plate and serve for a party while entertaining for a crowd.
The idea of creating a large board with sliced iceberg lettuce wedges and all the yummy toppings so everyone can build their own like a salad bar is brilliant! Plus, it’s a great low-carb option to pair with a grilled protein for any keto diet eaters. We first spotted this idea on Instagram last year and I am so glad I decided to make my own wedge salad board.
If you are curious about the board I am using it’s from Target!
I have had this for a couple years now and love using it for entertaining whenever I can. This oversized wood board worked out perfectly for this wedge salad idea, but you could always use an extra large sheet pan instead. Just gather some small bowls to set out all the toppings and that’s it!

Extra tips for creating a killer wedge salad board:
- Feel free to use storebought dressing or make your own. For premade Marie’s blue cheese in the chilled section is my go-to. We have a great keto blue cheese dressing recipe on Hip2Keto.com if you’d like to check that out.
- You can opt for premade bacon bits, but there is just something special about frying bacon to make your own.
- Feel free to include toppings that go beyond the traditional wedge salad, such as olives, croutons, avocado, radishes etc.
What a fun change of pace for a party salad!
I typically stick to a large pasta salad or broccoli salad, but this whole wedge salad board is next level. I love how it looks fancy, yet is easy and fun to put together using small bowls or ramikins. On this day I grilled burgers to serve with our salad and it was a delclious meal.
